Solar PV
Working across numerous industry sectors, we specialise in commercial solar panels and provide UK businesses with a design, installation and maintenance service for solar PV.
Due to the particularly high returns that solar panels deliver, this technology is one of the most popular sustainable solutions to date. Thousands of UK businesses have now switched to solar to power their operations.
We are solar PV experts and have seen the industry develop throughout the last 15 years. Our consultative approach to solar offers you industry leading advice, high quality installation and an award-winning service.
Battery Storage
We offer a full turnkey solution for battery storage solutions, including analysing your business and its suitability, specifying the best technologies, designing your system and installation.
In most cases, battery storage solutions are integrated with commercial solar panels as a means to capitalise on the energy savings they produce, as well as leverage a number of additional financial and environmental benefits.
Battery units can also be installed as a stand-alone product, independent of a renewable energy source and used to store cheaper energy from the grid during lower cost periods and discharge during peak times to avoid demand charges and peak-time energy costs.

Farming is a notoriously tricky business, and chicken farming particularly so. Keeping a consistent temperature in the chicken shed is key to the healthy development of the chicks. The introduction of heat pump technology has made the process better and more efficient from an operational perspective, but Ground Source Heat Pumps increase the electric load on an already heavy-use energy profile.
We were tasked with building a solar design to offset the increased demand from the Ground Source Heat Pumps.
Using monocrystalline panels and 40kw inverters we managed the entire process from DNO applications and design, through to install and commissioning. The final result being a 240kwp system, comprising 750 panels, split across 2 chicken sheds, feeding 3 inverters per shed.
The system was approved by the DNO at the end of March 2020 and regularly produces upwards of 1MW per day. To date this has halved the monthly energy cost for the entire site, providing a projected investment payback period of under 5 years.

Following on from the success of our previous system. We were commissioned to produce a Solar system for another chicken farm. This time adding lithium-ion battery storage into the mix.
Again managing the process from design through to install and commissioning, we installed just over 1000 panels across 3 separate buildings. 2 roofs of 110kwp each feed into a 100kw / 250kwh hybrid lithium-ion battery storage container. A separate roof of 120kwp feeds into 3 x 40kw inverters.
Using this set up the farm can maximise the onsite use of solar generation, whilst storing any excess energy in the battery system, to use at night or when the weather is poor.
Another key advantage of battery storage is the ability to used stored power at times when the farm would ordinarily be paying peak rate charges. Know as ‘peak-shaving,’ in this case it would facilitate potential savings of £2k per month just through avoidance of these peak periods. The battery also offers a direct secondary revenue stream. Known as Demand Side Response (DSR), this works by offering spare capacity to either feed or store from the grid.
